Eversource will be intermittently using a helicopter to do transmission line work on their right-of-ways intersected by the Mattabesett Trail and side trails like the blue/yellow blazed Bear Hill Loop in eastern Middletown and Haddam. The following notice was provided by the company. Please follow all posted signage.

Purpose of Flyover: Installation of OPGW for the 1620 Transmission line

Date: Beginning November 13, 2023 until December 8^th, 2023

Description of Aircraft: 369D Helicopter, Green and white.

Takeoff/Landing: There are designated landing zones within our Right of Way for the staging of the helicopter which will be approximately where Bear Hill Rd crosses Brooks Rd., Middletown  and approximately 223 Chamberlain Road, Haddam.

Trails- This work crosses the following trails: Mattabesett (CFPA), Cockaponset State Forest Trails (CT Deep), Bear Hill Loop (CFPA). Any portions of these trails that traverse the ROW will be CLOSED for safety purposes. Trail closure signs will be posted at the entrance/exit of ROW with general construction signs at the trail heads. If the installation finishes early, signage will be removed.

Flight Times: Flights are scheduled from 7AM to 7Pm Monday thru Saturday (subject to weather conditions)
