CFPA protects and stewards Connecticut’s forests, parks, and Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails so they can be enjoyed by all, now and for generations to come. For nearly 130 years, our work has focused on land conservation, environmental education, trail stewardship, and advocacy.

Today, we’re building on that legacy with a broader vision for Connecticut’s future. Climate change is reshaping our forests, challenging sustainable trail management, and threatening wildlife—making resilience a central focus of our work. At the same time, we are committed to ensuring that the benefits of our natural spaces are accessible to everyone.

While climate action and equitable access have long been part of our mission, they are now at the forefront of our 2023–2025 Strategic Plan.
