Description

Looking for engaging, hands-on ways to teach about forests, wildlife, and the environment? Join Beth Merow, Connecticut’s Project Learning Tree (PLT) Co-Coordinator, along with Julia Sonen and Lynn Kochiss, PLT facilitators, for an interactive introduction to Project Learning Tree (plt.org).

Through a sampling of PLT activities, participants will explore practical strategies for engaging learners in environmental education both indoors and outdoors. Project Learning Tree offers award-winning, research-based resources that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and stewardship while supporting learning across a variety of settings.

Whether you’re a classroom teacher, informal educator, naturalist, camp educator, or youth leader, you’ll leave with fresh ideas, practical tools, and ready-to-use activities for your educational toolbox.

Bring a lunch and water bottle. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for spending at least two hours outdoors on the trail.
