Event Description
Join NET Artist-in-Residence, Samuel Swap, for a fun day hiking and printmaking at the summit of Rattlesnake Mountain in Farmington, CT. See a demo of Sam’s process of wood engraving, and preview some of the prints he has made for the trail, including one inspired by Rattlesnake Mountain: “Crossing Buddies, a Snapping Turtle and a Hiker.” After, create your own print inspired by the great views of the Farmington Valley! Hike length is approximately 3-miles round-trip. Bring a water bottle, snacks, bug spray, sunblock, and whatever else you need to be comfortable in the woods for a few hours. And don’t forget your creative spirit! All materials supplied.
