Statewide | 200+ Free Outdoor Events Across CT

CT Trails Day is the nation’s largest trails celebration, offering hundreds of free guided hikes, walks, paddles, and outdoor programs across Connecticut. Now in its 33rd year, this beloved tradition brings together thousands of participants to explore the state’s remarkable trail network and natural landscapes.

This year’s theme, “Explore Where You Live,” encourages residents to discover the trails, parks, and open spaces in their own communities.

Events are designed for all ages, abilities, and experience levels. Whether you’re looking for a challenging backcountry adventure or a gentle stroll with the family, you’ll find an event that fits.

Registration opens May 6. Explore where you live with an event near you at trailsday.org!

CT Trails Day is coordinated by the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA), Connecticut’s oldest conservation organization. CFPA maintains the Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails, advocates for trails and open space, and works to connect people to the land.
