Enjoy stories from the trail from two ultralight backpackers with many miles under their trail runners. Mat Jobin (Reach Your Summit owner\, guide\, and thru-hiker) and Kristen Gardella (thru-hiker and FKT record holder) will also share their journeys toward their current ultralight packs and failures they’ve had along the way with a show-and-tell of gear\, tips they like to use to help keep their packs light\, guidance on how to pack an ultralight frameless backpack\, Leave No Trace principles\, and they’ll answer any questions you may have. \nRSVP Recommended. DESCRIPTION:Autumn colors are here\, so lets take a closer look at the trees that create such amazing color! \nJoin CFPA’s Education Assistant\, Julia Sonen\, for a walk and talk focused on Connecticut’s amazing trees. Starting from the banks of the Farmington River\, we will make our way up the Tunxis Blue Trail and see how the forest compositon changes. Both absolute beginners and those with some experience will enjoy this walk. \nPlease be prepared to walk 1+ miles over uneven terrain with some elevation change\, and bring water and any snacks you might need.  Sunscreen\, long sleeves\, good hiking boots and a hat are always suggested. \nWell-behaved and leashed dogs are welcome.
