Event Description
Why are oak trees important? In addition to providing acorns for birds and mammals, they are one of the greatest supporters of insect diversity and abundance in the forest. Oaks are critical members of any forest ecosystem. They also are a valuable resource for CT Grown timber products. Join Master Naturalist Lynn Kochiss for a short talk, then a walk of about 2 miles, and experience some of these magnificent trees up close.
Dress for the weather and possible wet trails. RSVP required. Registration is limited, so sign up early. Extreme weather cancels.
