Discover the legends and science behind the mysterious Moodus noises on this bucolic loop trail of Machimoodus State Park. Trails are a combination of woodland tracks and open cart paths. Scenic views of the Salmon River from several vantage points.
This is an easy loop hike of approximately 3 miles with one moderate uphill section (total ascent 340′). Sturdy shoes are recommended. Bring water and an snack.

Directions: 128 Leesville Rd, Moodus. From the intersection of Routes 82 and 149 in East Haddam follow Route 149 north 3.8 miles to its intersection with Route 151. Turn left (west) on Route 151 and follow for 1.2 miles to the park entrance on the left.
