SUMMARY:Nature Nerds Hike at West Rock Ridge State Park
DESCRIPTION:Join Renee Smith for a 6-mile loop hike that includes a portion of the Regicides Trail and features a trap rock ridge with sweeping views\, a beautiful lake\, and a visit to Judges Cave – a local landmark where Edward Whalley and William Goffe\, two of the “judges” who signed Charles II’s death warrant\, allegedly hid from Royalist bounty hunters in 1661. This is generally a moderate hike.  Portions of the Regicides Trail are moderate to difficult\, with some steep and vertiginous sections and a few scrambles. We’ll go at a moderate pace with frequent stops to enjoy our surroundings. \nRenee Smith is a nature enthusiast who hopes to spread the love! Nature Nerd Hikes are an opportunity to explore the woods while employing all our senses\, trigger curiosity\, share and seek knowledge\, and nourish our souls in the great outdoors. WFR certified.
