Moderately paced and suitable for hikers young and old, families and singles.
Event Info:
Take a walk on the old Cheney Railroad. The Manchester Land Trust invites the public to explore this interesting reminder of the 19th and early 20th century, as well as to get some exercise. Hikers should plan for a one-and-a-half hour round trip, with easy but bumpy terrain. We will hike along the portion of the rail-trail owned by the Land Trust, and learn some history of the railroad, built by the Cheneys (of silk-mill fame) in 1869. There will be a small gift for each child who comes.
Questions may be directed to info@manchesterlandtrust.org or to Susan, trained Family Guide, 860-643-9776.
